The role
As a Plant Operations and Maintenance Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a highly successful team, responsible for the maintenance, repair and breakdown on Nuclear Cranes and Nuclear Facilities. You will be managing teams that are critical to the successful delivery of a variety of projects.
Day-to-day, you’ll manage the operations of the Cranes and Refuel Equipment Maintenance Organisation, leading a team to ensure availability and reliability of equipment under their care.
- Ensuring comprehensive defects and deficiencies spreadsheet is produced, maintained, reviewed, and actioned for systems, structures, plant and equipment.
- To ensure the safe operation of all plant and processes to ensure compliance with the Nuclear Site Licence and MOD Authorisation Condition (LC/AC).
- To ensure compliance with the appropriate statutory health, safety and environmental requirements for any systems, structures, plant and equipment.
- Ensuring that all activities conform to professional engineering standards, quality orders and nuclear safety constraints.
This role is full time 35, hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the Plant Operations and Maintenance Manager
- Experience of maintenance/repair or breakdown of electrical/mechanical systems ideally within a high hazard/heavy industry.
- Excellent Stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience managing and utilising commissioning/maintenance documentation.
- Proven leadership and management, having led a team in the completion of operations and maintenance on safety related equipment.
- Experience in producing and managing work-related programmes/schedules.
Qualifications for the Plant Operations and Maintenance Manager
- HNC or NVQ Level 4 (or above) in an Engineering discipline. (Mechanical or Electrical)
- Undertaken or willing to undertake Nuclear Plant Fundamentals 1 and 2 – Desirable
- IOSH or NEBOSH Course – Desirable
