Control Systems Lead – Defence Demos
Full-Time
Bristol (Derby/Solihull considered)- Hybrid (3 days a week on-site)
We have an exciting opportunity for a Control Systems Lead to join the team in Bristol.
As a key technical leader within the New Product Introduction and Future Programmes Control Systems team you will be accountable for the delivery of high-integrity safety-critical control systems for a range of products. This will involve both ensuring that the deliveries from other teams are integrated together to meet the customer (both internal and external) requirements and that the control system integrates with other systems in the product. As a technical leader in our organisation you will also have influence on the future product and technology strategies and play an important role in improving the way we develop and deliver control systems.

The Control System Team is part of the Electrical, Electronics, Systems, Software and System Security engineering team in Rolls-Royce working across Defence, Civil Aerospace, Nuclear and Power Systems. What you will be doing:
In this role you will use your systems engineering expertise to capture stakeholder requirements, transforming these into verified and certified solutions.
- Project managing and integrating the work of a range of teams (including software development) to deliver a functional control system.
- Using a detailed understanding of the standards for development of high-integrity safety critical control systems to guide and lead the team to deliver. (eg ARP4754 and DO178).
- Provide input to and influence product strategies, technology and capability road maps.
- People leadership for a small team of integration engineers.
