An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Test Systems Design Engineer to join our team in Solihull. In this role you will help support our range of test equipment used within our manufacturing facility, help to manage introduction of new equipment, design and develop software and hardware required for testing aerospace and military products.
This work covers all aspects of test development, from software/hardware design from requirements definition, integration testing, test process validation, operator training, liaising with internal and external customers and suppliers into the business.

What you will be doing
You will help support our range of test equipment used within our manufacturing facility, help to manage introduction of new equipment, design and develop software and hardware required for testing aerospace and military products.
Review test requirements and define Electrical, Electronic and Software systems that are capable of meeting current and future demands.
Coordinate with Electronics Test management, and identified customer to ensure that planning, building, and commissioning are supported and that equipment is purchased in line with business requirements.
Fault finding of test systems (at both rig level and test equipment component level), and provide support in resolving technical issues to ensure test requirements are met. Also provide second tier support to front line maintenance personal to help resolve complex diagnostic issues.
Develop and document policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure that the development of test platforms and applications are carried out in a controlled way.

Software programming skills, including commissioning and validation.
Degree level in Electronic Engineering or equivalent with working knowledge of electronics test equipment and instrumentation. Also have strong problem solving skills, and an ability to understand the level of analysis
Strong electronics hardware engineering background, preferably in a test environment working on electronics hardware, instrumentation and software development.
Understanding of analogue/ digital interfacing circuitry and methodologies to interface unit under test to test equipment platforms, including multiplexers and switching.
Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment or as a sole contributor on identified projects and able to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
