JOB TITLE: Quality Control Inspector
SUMMARY:The Quality Control Inspector ensures all maintenance work, including documentation, is performed in an airworthy manner and in compliance with approved technical data. This position is also responsible for preliminary, routine and in-process inspections on aircraft and components to determine serviceability and airworthiness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs incoming preliminary inspections on aircraft or components in accordance with customer request cards or manufacturer’s manuals.
- Ensures documentation of maintenance performed is completed as required by FAR’s, Company Repair Station Manual and customer’s Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP).
- Completes final buy-back of maintenance performed.
- Performs in-progress inspections including clearance-to-close, torque verifications, dimensional checks and rigs.
- Performs return-to-service and airworthiness releases on serviceable tags, aircraft logbooks, and FAA form 337 as authorized by Company and airlines.
- Documents on-the-job training (OJT) and experience for inclusion into training file.
- Performs audit of Company facilities for FAR and safety regulation compliance.
- Monitors compliance to scrap bin policy.
- Be available on the floor to provide oversight, guidance and assistance.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY:Duties shall include observing all company, health, safety and environmental rules, ensure provision of full information on area specific safety orientation, identify all unique hazards, and are provided with the proper equipment to carry out the job in a safe manner. Also, the entire work area must be routinely inspected to maintain a high standard of housekeeping and low incidence of physical hazards and all accidents must be promptly reported.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to interpret technical and regulatory documentation accurately.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of personnel.
- Basic computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Ability to learn airline customer RII requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Familiar with inspection tools, aids and devices used in determining tolerances, specifications, and progress.
- Ability to work a variety of shift schedules and shift hours.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Airframe Services
- Minimum of three (3) years heavy aircraft maintenance experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by Manager’s discretion.
- F.A.A. Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License required.
- Components Services
- Minimum of three (3) years aircraft component maintenance experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by Manager’s discretion.
- F.A.A. Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License, Airframe License or Repairman Certificate required.
- NDI and previous QC experience preferred.
- Prior leadership experience preferred.
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee will also be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate to high. May occasionally work near moving mechanical parts in high, precarious places and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
