Position Summary:
As the Pricing Analyst, this individual will assist the Division Strategic Pricing Manager, partner with the Pricing Team, and other supporting departments to proactively analyze and provide recommendations considering customer value-based marketing, competitive markets, and company costs affecting the business plans and profitability across the division. The Pricing Analyst will collect, analyze, and evaluate data supporting divisions' price to support customer, sales and operations expectations and goals.
This Pricing Analyst role does not have direct reports.
Interact with the Corporate, Group and Division personnel. Will directly support Division Strategic Pricing Managers, product managers, and division management.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Interacts with customers daily to provide quick and accurate pricing information, including but limited to quotes, rebates, product availability and list prices.
- Responsible for design and implementation of continuous improvement techniques and methods within the Pricing Department.
- Works with IT staff in design and implementation of systems and reporting improvements for measuring and monitoring pricing effectiveness and efficiency.
- Assists in analyzing division product markets determining the ceiling and floor prices of products. Evaluates cause and effect with pricing, volume, cost, competition, distribution, and segmentation.
- Responsible for creating and reinforcing continuous feedback to encourage successful pricing models. Responsible for implementation of tools to be used by product managers and field sales.
- Assists division in determining appropriate list prices, standard discounts and rebates and managing any restructuring, updating, communication and publication of price increases.
- Analyzing the exception pricing process by recommending guidelines, authority levels and maintaining a disciplined and structured approach to exception pricing.
- Provides management with reports to effectively respond to changing economic conditions and market changes. Performs ongoing measurements and reporting on pricing effectiveness.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field with 2-5 years’ experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Excellent computer skills with proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerBI.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Experience in sales and marketing.
- General understanding of manufacturing processes, practices, and cost accounting.
