Job Description
Join our team in a critical role supporting the installation and testing of interior and exterior communication systems on Expeditionary Fast Transport (EPF) and Fleet Replenishment Oilers (T-AO) class ships. This entry-level position provides a hands-on opportunity to work on both electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, offering a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall success of our maritime projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the validation of interior/exterior communication systems, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and integrated systems on T-AO class ships using calibrated test equipment.
- Support the assembly of system-level components, adhering to military and DOD standards under the guidance of senior team members.
- Read and follow technical drawings for the fabrication and installation of cable assemblies, components, and system integration, ensuring compliance with specifications for T-AO vessels.
- Collaborate with Technicians, Quality Control, Engineering, Drafting, and Project Managers to support production quality for T-AO class ships.
- Document defects and report to project leads for resolution, contributing to quality assurance and defect management efforts.
- Fabricate cable assemblies, including multi-conductor, coaxial, and power cables, in line with military and DOD standards.
- Utilize computers and software to record man-hours, retrieve drawings/datasheets, request parts, and document defects, ensuring accurate documentation and communication across teams.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High school diploma and 4 years of related experience
Proficiency in using calibrated test equipment and interpreting technical drawings
Knowledge of military and DOD standards for the fabrication and assembly of electronic and mechanical systems
Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including Technicians, Quality Control, Engineering, Drafting, and Project Managers
Excellent documentation and defect management skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience with the installation and testing of communication systems on naval vessels, particularly T-AO or similar classes
Shipboard or submarine experience
Experience in shipboard communications equipment
Proven track record of maintaining high production quality and resolving technical issues in a shipyard environment
Clearance Level - Must Currently Possess Top Secret
