Carbon Brake manufacturing is a unique process. There are only a handful of these manufacturing sites around the world. Our brakes are used to stop commercial aircraft every day. The manufacturing of the carbon-carbon disks begins with raw material and leaves our plant as a fully completed product. All manufacturing test and research is completed in house. Interns will have a chance to solve real world problems and experiment within process changes with measurable impacts. This position is for a Program Engineering Intern with a passion to learn about and gain experience in the Carbon Brake Manufacturing Industry. This position is onsite, in Pueblo, Colorado.
What
You Will Do:
- You will support lead/engineers with Carbon processing engineering projects.
- You will help with product performance troubleshooting and root cause identification activities.
- You will support current production issues if the need arises.
- You will perform material analyses that include, but are not limited to, failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications.

- You will be provided access to Collin’s Aerospace communities of practice for learning and networking opportunities.
- Carbon-Carbon manufacturing processes along with data analysis.
- Aerospace design and test standards and how they apply to carbon manufacturing.
Qualifications
You Must Have:
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Previous Engineering intern experience.
- Experience with minitab, Solidworks, NX, SQL.
- Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Prefer candidates that are pursuing Mechanical, Chemical, Mechatronic, or Industrial degrees.
- Prefer candidates that are at or beyond Junior year.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
