Key Responsibilities
The Engineer of IT Systems is responsible for the evaluation, implementation, and ongoing support of various network platforms in a Network Operations level 3 Production Support team. This individual will primarily be responsible for providing consultation and direct technical support in problem management, integration and systems programming for: Aruba wireless, network hardware, operating systems, and software systems. This individual will work on implementing releases, upgrades, and/or changes into the environment while ensuring platform performance and availability meet design criteria and objectives through monitoring, timely service restoration, and tuning. Duties will include system implementation, system maintenance/administration, and troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Perform root cause analysis to quickly recover from service interruptions, and to prevent recurring problems.
- Provide technical support, as needed, to the enterprise.
- Consult with other business units (e.g. application groups, DBAs, middleware, etc.) to configure platforms for product installation and ongoing support.
- Knowledge of network routing and switching technology and protocols.
- Design and document enterprise standards and procedures.
- Stay ahead of industry and technology trends and ensure platforms/systems conform to established enterprise/industry standards (systems management, security, operating systems, etc.)/reference models.
- Implement changes to platforms with minimal impact to the business by following enterprise standards and procedures.
- Monitor, manage, and tune platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved.
- Provide on-site, and on-call 7x24x365 support, as needed to Level 1 and 2 GNOC
- Coordinate activities with internal/external technology owners/service providers.
- Understand technical/business requirements gathered from the business units.
- Install, customize, maintain, test, and troubleshoot operating systems and other systems software.
- Configure, install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot hardware systems.

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Associate’s degree in information technology, computer science, or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of experience in Information Technology
- Knowledge of multiple network systems like routers, switches, F5, and Aruba wireless.
- Communication Skills: communicates well verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management, capable of successful formal and informal communication, speaks and writes clearly and understandably at the right level.
- Integrity & Trust: widely trusted, being seen as a direct, truthful individual, can present the unvarnished truth in an appropriate and effective manner, keeps confidences, admits mistakes, and doesn’t misrepresent him/herself for personal gain.

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with Cisco routers and switches
- Understanding of LAN/WAN
- Familiarity with task automation techniques.
