Dimensional Gauge Inspector

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dimensional Gauge Inspector within our Manufacturing Services team at the Precision Casting Facility in Derby.
As a Dimensional Gauge Inspector, you will be responsible for the inspection of both single crystal and directionally solidified turbine blades. You will play an integral part in the team being both accountable for the delivery and quality of components.

What you will be doing:
In this role you will look after:
- Gauge inspection of highly complex turbine blades to tight engineering tolerances using both Coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and Rise and Fall Machines.
- Interpreting manufacturing drawings, Technical instructions and Deviation permits/concessions.

For this role you will need to demonstrate understanding of the appliable health and safety standards and we are looking for someone who is/has:
- Advanced level engineering apprenticeship and NVQ/SVQ level 3 or equivalent. To support your application please attach a copy of your certificate as proof of completing a recognised apprenticeship together with your CV.
- Experience of interpreting dimensional drawings and an ability to operate a variety of hand tools. Experience of working to technical work instructions desirable.
- Tool room fitting experience desirable.
- Good awareness of HS&E requirements.
- Flexibility to undertake other tasks/activities when required. A willingness to learn new skills and processes, undertaking training as necessary.
- Material polishing to high standards using various hand tools desirable.
