Position Summary
Director of FBO Services is responsible for directing the overall operation of the FBO Departments at the Jet Aviation facility including customer service, line service, ground support, vehicle maintenance, aircraft cleaning and fuel farm operations. This individual carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures and applicable laws. This individual is also responsible for the overall direction, safety, security coordination, and evaluation of all departments assigned.
Compensation Data
The posted salary ranges will default to that of your regional location and will not include any premiums. The baseline range will be as follows: $84,000 to &94,000 annually
Minimum Requirements
- 10+ years’ experience in corporate aviation
- Knowledge and understanding of aviation industry
- Excellent internal/external commercial awareness
- At least 7 years of experience managing resources and mixed-level team members of professionals and managers
- Experience setting standards and operational guidelines
- Experience implementing business plans and strategic guidelines
Main Responsibilities
- Plans, directs and coordinates activities concerned with the FBO operations in accordance with Jet Aviation, FAA, airport and any other governmental and environmental agencies, policies and regulations.
- Enhances and reinforces training programs to ensure a high and continuing high level of excellence in customer service, line service and ground support is maintained. Determines needs for new trainings and develop innovative ideas to implement them in partnership with the SVP/GM and the HR department to benefit or improve the operation.
- Ensures friendly and efficient service to our customers and adherence to all customer service, line service and ground support operating procedures.
- Responsible for following up with the managers on standard accounting practices regarding the daily review of cash and credit card transactions and ensures that daily checks and balances have been completed satisfactorily including receivables and daily SAP closing process.
Main Responsibilities Cont.
- Supports existing relationships with customers, vendors and suppliers and establishes new relationships accordingly.
- Responsible for FBO tenant contracts, negotiations of said contracts, and enforcement of those contracts once signed.
- Drives FBO departments towards exceeding budget results and company and departmental goals and KPIs.
- Responsible for the safe, secure, and accurate operation of the fuel farm. Manages the fuel inventory to conserve fuel costs and margins. Ensures that routine inspections and repairs are done on a timely manner and that logs are kept in strict compliance with appropriate regulations.
- Ensures that all the required fuel farm reporting and testing, necessary for the safe, quality storage and dispensing of fuel is completed as required. Maintains and fosters a good relationship with fuel farms partnered FBO.
- Responsible for ensuring the vehicle maintenance department operates in a safe and functional manner and that repairs are done in a safe timely fashion while following proper procedures. Implements and/or improves maintenance records and logs system for all work performed.
- Responsible for FBO accounting practices and documentation so that fuel reconciliations are accurate and timely.

- Assist SVP/GM to manage the FBO budget, expenditures, and appropriate staffing and service levels.
- Ensures that FBO complies with OSHA, EPA, Airport Authority and any other agency related to or involved in the Company’s FBO operation at the airport.
- Communicates changes or additions to company or departmental policies to the staff.
- In partnership with the SVP/GM and the HR Department, interview applicants for all open positions within the customer service, line service, and ground support departments.
- In partnership with the SVP/GM and the HR Department, this individual will have an active role in the hiring, dismissal, discipline, training, retraining, evaluation process, and counseling employees. Reviews with the managers the necessary materials used in evaluating and assessing the performance of all personnel within the department. As well as reviewing direct reports and evaluation and creation of their individual KPIs.
- Motivates and encourage managers, supervisors, and all employees within the departments to provide the highest service levels. Improves ways of open communication with employees to reduce employee relations issues.
- Assumes additional responsibilities in the absence of the Senior VP/GM and delegates responsibilities to qualified personnel, as needed.
- Responsible for the overall performance and Code of Conduct of the FBO and its employees.
- Other duties may be assigned, as needed.
- Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies and the General Dynamics network

The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
