Field Services Team at Hindan, India is currently looking for an
Experienced Back-Shop Mechanic who will work as mechanic in the back-shop of IAF undertaking maintenance, repair and operational support to Government Furnished Equipment installed in the Machine Shop, Sheet metal Shop, NDI shop and especially Composite shop. The shops have state of the art imported equipment installed and the selected candidate will be required to provide familiarization training to the IAF technicians also. This position will focus on supporting the
Boeing Defense India (BDI) business organization.
Teamwork in diverse team is important in this position. Must be able to think proactively and work collaboratively with every team member. Must be willing to work flexible hours (early or late as needed) to interface customers’ requirements. Demonstrate strong written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of written and spoken English, and familiar with computer operation. Be self-motivated and able to work independently with a positive attitude and highest ethics.
Selected candidate must have knowledge and deep understanding of working on various equipment installed in the shops. He must demonstrate capability to undertake repair of various machines installed in the back- shops, replace spares as required and initiate demand for spares when required. Be a self-starter who is not afraid to proactively seek information and direction to successfully complete the statement of work. Be able to demonstrate highly innovative and creative problem-solving skills.
This position will be located at
IND - Hindon Air Force Station, India.
Position Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate skill in analyzing engineering data and drawing.
- Should be able to undertake maintenance, repair and modifications of the equipment installed in the shops. Should be familiar with fault isolation of complex machines and undertake repairs as necessary.
- Demonstrate capability to provide familiarization training to the IAF technicians. The familiarization training will cover all the equipment fitted in the back-shop over and above the 04 shops mentioned above.
- Will demonstrate capability to co-ordinate with international teams and place demands for defective items.
- Individual will work closely with team members of C17 Field Services. Individual will develop and maintain relationships / partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners to develop collaborative plans and execute on-going projects.
- Documents procedures and established processes (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
- Oversees training. Works under general direction.
- Employment will be subject to the candidate’s ability to obtain a security clearance from Indian security agencies/ IAF.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree or higher / ITI in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering is required as BASIC Qualification
- 4 to 7 years of hands on experience in maintaining sophisticated equipment like Lathe machines, industrial X-ray machines, NDI machines, especially composite repair machines, preferably at Airport / Airlines/MRO/ Military Aviation Establishments.
- Knowledge and experience in undertaking various composite repairs, knowledge/experience of techniques & maintaining the related equipment preferably at Airport / Airlines/MRO/ Military Aviation Establishments.
- Demonstrated experience and capability to diagnose the defects through schematic/ diagrams and technical manuals.
- Previous work experience in workshops/MRO supporting Airlines/Defense establishment undertaking similar jobs.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience ) :
- Repair of various types of Composites, maintenance of its related equipment & machines along with knowledge of various Computer numerical controls & software related to the these machines
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience.)

This position does offer relocation within INDIA.
