Key Responsibilities: A Power Electronics Engineer provides analog circuit and digital design for power conversion products. You will analyze and design high reliability, high power AC-DC & DC-DC power converters and power sub-systems for applications including radar, directed energy, and military more electric vehicles. You will help sustain our products by initiating innovative circuit designs, completing documentation, and conducting analysis and characterization. Performs design and development of power converters incorporating modern topologies to achieve high performance at reasonable cost. Program digital signal processors (TI C2000 Delfino series MCU) for power converter control, including control for bidirectional converters. Performs engineering work in basic and applied research, development/design of new or sustaining products. Accepts ownership responsibility for producing thorough and accurate designs and the development of work that meets all customer specifications and company requirements for schedule, cost, producibility, quality and reliability. This includes following the design through the entire design and manufacturing lifecycle. Work includes the design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of electronic apparatus, components, or circuits for use within electronics and/or aerospace equipment, devices, and systems. Conduct technical analysis to validate designs, including but not limited to: trade studies, product design, system/component integration, mathematical modeling, reliability analysis, and development. Perform functional, acceptance, qualification, or development testing on new or modified designs. Perform detailed circuit analysis to verify design compliance to specific performance targets. Analysis to include computer aided modeling and the generation of schematics. Prepare and review technical reports/documentation necessary to satisfy customer, internal and program requirements, including specifications, design documents, test plans/procedures, reports, correspondence, etc. Support the bid and proposal process through technical assistance, preliminary designs, research and development, etc. Establish and maintain proactive communication channels with customers, suppliers, and internal organizations as required to meet project goals. Provide diagnostic support to manufacturing on new and existing products. Minimum Requirements: 3+ years industry experience electronics power conversion product design and manufacturing, relevant research & product development in support of doctoral degree or post-doctoral research an option. Demonstrated DC-DC or AC-DC converter design experience or inverter design experience. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills. BSEE, or related technical Bachelor’s degree Eligibility Requirement: This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government. Demonstrated experience with manufacturing standards and practices. Ability to provide leadership to engineering design staff. Demonstrated multi-tasking and prioritization skills. Experience with designing product for harsh environments such as military applications.
