We are currently recruiting for a Quality System Specialist to join our Brisbane-based Quality Team supporting the Joint Systems Programs in a part time role 2.5 days per week.

The Opportunity
BDA is seeking a Quality System Specialist to join our Brisbane-based team on a part time basis. At BDA we provide flexible work arrangements where the part time hours can be spread over the fortnight to support your work/life balance. This role would suit an enthusiastic quality minded individual with a quality, maintenance or Engineering background.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to support both tactical quality imperatives but also drive, to full maturity, a continuous improvement culture within the programs that provide the Australian Defence Force with a world leading, software-enabled, communications systems as well as sustainment and enhancement of Royal Australian Air Force's (RAAF) ground-based air battlespace management system.
Key responsibilities of this role shall include, but not be limited to:
- Coordinating and collaborating with Program and Functional leadership to ensure the ongoing effectiveness and efficiency of the Quality Management System
- Conducting internal audits with the dual purpose of identifying opportunities for improvement and assessing system compliance to application regulations, standards and contract requirements
- Developing, implementing and maintaining quality directives, policies, plans, processes and local work instructions
- Tracking, monitoring and measuring the health and performance of the local quality management system and driving, as necessary, remediation response to any lagging and negative leading indicators
- Leading and/or coordinating investigations and associated root cause analysis activities in order to identify corrective and preventative actions and assure first time quality imperatives can continue to be met
To be successful you will have:
- Completed ISO 9001 Lead Auditor training by a recognised training organisation or willingness to achieve as part of an upskilling plan
- A willingness to proactively and independently resolve issues
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to effectively engage, communicate with and influence key stakeholders
- Australian Citizenship to meet Defence security requirements
