Job Description:
The candidate will contribute to the company’s success by performing a variety of engineering work in the development, improvement, and optimization of multiple processes and techniques utilized in the manufacture of I2 tubes, including vacuum deposition of inorganic and metallic films, glass processing, chemical etching and handling, materials analysis, and characterization. The work will include improving and optimizing current processes and materials management targeting increased new image intensifier capabilities, manufacturing yield, and/or reduced variance. Emphasis will be in improvement of component performance, implementing manufacturing standard work, best practices, and developing optimized process recipes and methodologies.
Success in this role will be measured by the timely process optimization and supporting implementation of new processes into production, resulting in cost-savings associated with reduced tool down time, improved component level yield, and/or enhanced product performance.
Essential Functions:
- Under limited general direction, determine approaches to objectives demonstrating a complete understanding and application of engineering principles, concepts, and practices.
- Emphasis will be in improvement of component performance, implementing manufacturing standard work and best practices.
- Use Lean Manufacturing tools to analyze and design production workflow, work stations and area layout to reduce ergonomic strain
- Performs a variety of engineering work in the development, improvement, and optimization of multiple processes and techniques utilized in the manufacture of image intensifier tubes, including vacuum deposition of inorganic and metallic films, glass processing, chemical etching and handling, materials analysis, and characterization.

- Experience in different surface engineering for metals, adhesives, and sealing.
- Experience with heat treatment of different metal alloys.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Expertise in making data driven decisions to introduce process efficiencies
- Strong leadership, strong verbal, written, presentation, and team-working skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required
- In-depth knowledge of project management and use of project management tools including Microsoft Project
- Experience using DFM, Six-Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Experience using DMAIC process and associated tools
- Experience with using statistical softwares (e.g. Minitab)
- Experience using SQL
- Able to obtain security clearance
