Role Summary
The Crew Pay Analyst I role is responsible for accurate processing of pay for Pilots or Flight Attendants in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) and the department’s standard operating procedures at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. As an individual contributor, this role focuses on accurate processing of pay for our crew members and work with crew members on issues related to pay.
Key Duties
Supervised to deliver processes and ensure accurate pay for crew members per the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Follow established procedures, with additional research, to leverage CBA expertise to provide excellent customer service to internal customers (e.g., Flight Attendants, Pilots, and other management employees).
Work with crew members on issues related to pay.
Research and resolve all payroll questions including driving resolution with other teams if appropriate.
Communicate clearly and confidently with Flight Attendant and/or Pilot union on crew pay focused contractual requirements.
Identify and provide input on process improvements within the team and with other departments including IT, Crew Planning, Crew Scheduling & Corporate Payroll.
Perform testing support for payroll related software systems.
Participate in cross team meetings & serve as a subject matter expert for specific components of payroll processes and the CBA.
Assist training of new pay analysts.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
Bachelor’s degree with a focus in accounting, finance, labor or related disciplines, or 2 years of proven crew pay, accounting, payroll, auditing, data analysis, scheduling or related experience in a mid-sized or larger company in lieu of this degree.
Excellent ability to focus on details with demonstrated accuracy and analytical skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to focus under pressure to meet strict production deadlines.
Documented experience working with labor groups and contracts.
Ability to dissect current processes, identify inefficiencies and promote change.
Intermediate level proficiency in MS Excel, (including formulas & graphs), MS Outlook and MS SharePoint
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
- Expertise in labor contract pay applications.

Salary Range
$54,100 --- $75,700 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
