The role
As a Multi Trader, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be involved in all aspects of maintenance onsite, which will include installation, testing, servicing, removal, replacement, maintenance, and repair of a range of equipment.
Day-to-day, you will support the self-delivery of planned and reactive maintenance activities across the Royal School of Military Engineering Estate (RSME). You will also ensure that statutory and mandated requirements are met within legal and contractual timescales.
- Carry out all aspects of fabric and mechanical and electrical maintenance – Building Services
- Predominantly (but not limited to), painting and fabric repair, gutter clearing, meter reading, basic plumbing, legionella prevention tasks and lots more.
- Undertake installation, testing, servicing, removal, replacement, maintenance and repair of a range of equipment, as part of planned preventative and reactive maintenance programmes
- Responsible for the quality of your own work, possibly others’ and ensuring the work is completed safely, meets stakeholder quality, time and budget requirements, whilst maintaining the efficient running of equipment.
This role is full time working 40 hours per week and is based on site at Minley. You will have an on call rota post 6 months working within the role.
Essential experience of Multi Trader
- Building Fabric Experience
- First principles relating to the operation and maintenance of appropriate plant and equipment
- Relevant industry health and safety standards, regulations, and environmental and regulatory requirements
- Maintenance and operational practices, processes and procedures covering a range of plant and equipment.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
