Job Summary
The Head of Procurement must manage the supply of products and services. The Head of Procurement has the task to lead all procurement related activities and implement the procurement strategy and policy in line with the requirements of the company.
You will work closely with business stakeholders to build consensus and alignment for change & procurement projects, advise and most importantly implement with functional or country leadership teams.
Main responsibilities
- Accountable to manage country Budget in close collaboration with finance, operations and Group Procurement.
- Lead all procurement activities in own area of responsibility for the applicable categories, as well as be responsible for the management of assigned suppliers.
- Responsible for the purchasing implementation of applicable categories, processes and tools in own area of responsibility, i.e. P2P.
- Responsible for achieving of the agreed global and regional targets for P&L Savings, Cost Avoidance and Payment Terms.
- Manages costs based on budget but not limited to Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Life-Cycle Cost evaluation, value creation.
- Accountable within the M&A process for post-merger integration measures, supplier onboarding and monitor service levels to ensure compliance and uninterrupted availability for existing clusters.
- Responsible for the establishment and management of effective relationships with suppliers (SRM).
- Close collaboration with Sales, Business Development and Finance regarding upcoming needs (forecasts, capex replacements).
- Responsible for observing market trends (innovation, overall state of supplier market and vendors).
- Effectively build and manage relationships with suppliers, using Total Cost of Ownership approach.
- Set rules of engagement with divisions/country organizations (incl. subsequent control of compliance) with respect to scope of managed categories.
- Support and assist the Group CPO in executive negotiations.
Your qualifications and competencies
- You have a Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering, Business, Economics, Procurement, Supply Chain or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience within procurement, supply chain, operations, logistics and transformation offices or consulting background.
- You have excellent negotiating skills and understanding of contractual key terms.
- A proven track record in delivering cost savings and driving transformational projects.
- Strong project management experience and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage category processes and cross functional teams in a matrix organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work with key stakeholders in multiple global locations and at various levels.
- Down-to-earth and positive work attitude, hands-on mentality, team worker.
- Excellent social & communication skills – able to clearly articulate position in a complex organization.
- German skills at business level (written and spoken) is a must.
- English skills at business level (written and spoken) is a must, any additional language is an advantage.
