The role
As a Head of Maintenance and Reliability, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will play a crucial role as a Subject Matter Expert leading the Babcock Group in the development and implementation of a Globalised Maintenance and Reliability strategy concerned with the built environment Babcock operates in.
Day-to-day, you will be reporting to the Global Director of Facilities Management and working closely with the direct reporting team and operational leadership. Responsible for leading this pillar strategically, both tapping into the resources available in Babcock and in the Workplace team to provide a pillar of guidance and support to the operations teams in our locations.
- Management, supervision and professional development of all direct reports and will assist the operational leadership in the generation of goals and objectives and development plans for Maintenance staff
- Support in employment reviews, interviews and will have a general interest in the technical capability and success of the Maintenance workforce.
- Develop a close working relationship with all vendors under responsibility and accountability to ensure they fully understand the culture and feel part of the team delivering a high-quality service.
- Accountable for continuing innovation of operational delivery in Maintenance & Reliability and jointly responsible for the development and operation of a system of innovation and idea capture, which will quickly process innovation and ideas determining go/no-go viability and deployment as required
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Head of Maintenance and Reliability:
- Considerable experience in a Workplace, Building Maintenance & Reliability or Facilities Lead role
- Detailed building technical understanding as a minimum
