The role:
Flight Technical Services (FTS) Manager - 6 MONTHS FIXED TERM
This role will lead the FTS function to maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant operation in a highly dynamic and growing organisation. The post holder will supply Flight Operations Technical support for the BAEF fleet, by generating, implementing, and monitoring operational support functions including aircraft performance and weight and balance data. The FTSM will have the opportunity to make their mark through the delivery of a range of exciting aviation projects.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and maintain FTS procedures in FTS and ensure alignment with interdependent flight Ops areas.
- Provide Technical assistance and advice as a performance and weight and balance expert to the wider Flight Operations team.
- Support airfield approval processes and standard routes, providing scoping and detailed performance calculations including the technical and safety evaluation working alongside Flight Operations staff.
- Provide support to Flight Operations and CAMO with the dry lease and the introduction/exit of aircraft
- Represent the company at industry, regulatory and technical groups.
- Produce fuel usage, fuel emissions and noise standards statistics to inform Flight Ops and Flight Crew communities.
- Understand and leverage Service Level Agreements (SLA) established with business partners supplying Technical Services to Flight Operations.
- Manage the Company Weight and Balance function, ensuring a suitable process for maintaining aircraft Weight and Balance, including weight changes and aircraft weight checks.
- Act as the primary point of contact with the Commercial Department regarding updating the seasonal weight penalties and payload calculations
- Act as project manager to any adhoc tasks as assigned by Flight Ops Management.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
- Have excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to apply and develop methodical and efficient administrative processes and procedures
- Demonstrate continuous improvement within their work area and processes.
- Hold a high degree of excellence and attention to detail in processes and output.
Your experience:
- Experience and skills for competent and proficient use of Office Software
- Experience of delivering products meeting the Performance A/CS-25 requirement.
- Experience in Flight Planning.
- People management - Evidence of leading and motivating a team
- Experience of processing manuals and generating reports for submission to regulatory organisations (CAA/EASA)
