In this role, you will:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Project schedule structures (Work Breakdown Structure / Organization Breakdown Structure / Resource Breakdown Structure / Cost Breakdown Structure) to remain consistent with project targets and objectives.
- Develop baseline and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) such that resources can be committed efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure alignment between the integrated scheduling toolset and the company’s financial and material demand toolset, including alignment of any Level 4/5 schedules.
- Produce regular status update of the integrated schedule and providing metrics (e.g. critical path/total float) and schedule analysis of the impact to the project.
- Produce resource and cost loaded schedules and providing financial status of the project to inform Integrated Business Planning (IBP).
- Produce and circulate schedule risk analysis updates monthly, including key milestones and status against targets and objectives and informing the baseline.
- Carry out critical path analysis of the integrated schedule on a regular basis and circulate management information to inform project resources.
- Co-ordinate day to day duties of scheduling staff, ensure that all work in the area is allocated correctly and sufficient coverage is in place during absences etc.
- Provide technical guidance and instruction to less experienced or more junior staff.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Project Controls measures and metrics to demonstrate schedule adherence and continual performance improvement.
- Assist in defining, standardizing, developing, and implementing scheduling best practices, scheduling and planning methods and processes such as schedule management plans.
- Other duties as deemed necessary and reasonable.
The ideal candidate brings:
- 5+ years’ experience in management of schedules for multi-disciplined projects, including Earned Value (EV) and critical path analysis and management.
- Experience in a Project Management Office (PMO) environment on multiple projects of varying type and project cycle phase.
- Proficient knowledge of contract management, and project management techniques.
- Experience in gathering independent evidence and determining that the information from projects and/or programmes is valid and will achieve their aims.
- Proficient knowledge of scheduling toolsets and methodologies, schedule management, resource management, consolidated planning in complex situations.
- Proficient knowledge of timescale risk analysis technique.
- The ability to react quickly when necessary to meet challenging objectives.
- Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills with the ability to collate and present information at appropriate levels.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team or individually.
- Adaptability and flexibility in a fast moving and challenging environment.
- A working knowledge with progressing/work package database etc. Project Estimating and Planning System (PEPS) is desirable.
