Position Summary
The Logistics & Warehouse maintains records on inventory, routine incoming and outgoing shipments. Ships and receives merchandise or material and arranges the transportation of goods, while following policies, procedures and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Monitors and coordinates all asset tracking, purchasing and inventory control
- Plans, schedules, and monitors the movement of material through the production cycle, following company instructions
- Coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production, and engineering; ensures inbound material through engineering requests ("775 orders") are successfully transferred to the correct drop-off location
- Develops specifications for new contract orders
- Determines material requirements for engineering and production schedules
- Coordinates cycle counting and adjustments within SA; works with parker-Meggitt Danville site to best coordinate inventory adjustments and counting sheets, and to optimize logistics between the two sites when considering efficiency and cost
- Places purchase orders for the supply of product and plans materials that are required to meet order books
- Ensures state and company shipping polices, regulations, & guidelines are adhered
Qualifications
Shipping and Receiving or Warehouse ManagementSkills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
- Ability to research and analyze data effectively
- Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service orientation
- Track record of building and maintaining customer/client relationships
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
- Strong prioritization skills
- Decision making skills
- Ability to develop strategic plans to grow the business
- Proficient in SAP or similar business management tool(s)
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices, procedures and standards policy and procedure development techniques
- Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to federal and state transport/shipping codes
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
Education: High School Diploma (Required) Associate Degree (Preferred)

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
Manufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements
Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each workday doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb.May have possible exposure to dust and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.
