Role Introduction
Reports to:Employee Relations and Bases Manager
As the Employee Relations and Bases Lead under the Inflight Service Delivery team, you will be responsible for managing employment-related matters of Cathay Pacific cabin crew. With a strong understanding of cabin crew operations and the needs of different employee groups, you will be acting as the Centre of Excellence to all cabin crew employment-related matters. You will also be responsible for overseeing social media presence and helping to create a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of internal contact for any Hong Kong based cabin crew employment-related matters, including but not limited to any questions on employment terms, various schemes and provide guidance to internal stakeholders, and manage Internal People enquiries (e.g. policy clarification, general HR matters) and conduct follow up actions and investigation when required
- Act as the Centre of Excellence for all the ISD employment-related Policies & Procedures and assist in being the first point of contact with corporate policies for alignment or synergy
- Support management with research and background information for employee relations matters and legal case proceedings
- Provide recommendations on amendment to existing Policies & Procedures for continuous improvements, and provide advice/guidance to internal teams on the implementation
- Act as custodian of e-Records and develop SharePoint management system for Employee Relations, Inflight Service Delivery Department office
- Support trade union meetings, manage meeting minutes and follow up action items to support union engagement Responsible for a comprehensive database of union agreements, grievances & solutions
- Lead and drive project planning, studies, stakeholder and change management for initiatives related to cabin crew employment to ensure company policies and procedures are consistently and equitably applied and that all legal requirements are met, and ensure that a positive employee relation is developed and reinforced
- Oversee, keep track and understand the cabin crew sentiment across all social media channels (both internal and external) to identify aspects that are presenting employment and industrial relations threats, and proactively formulate resolutions and contain potential issues from escalating
- Work closely with Cabin Crew Communications and Engagement team to prepare and create content (including lines to take and social media posts) on the social media platform to address employment relation related issues and generate positive crew sentiment on internal social media channels
- Require out of hours support for any ad-hoc operational communication/activations and deputise the Employee Relations and Bases Manager if required
Requirements
- Tertiary Education or above, or with a HR qualification
- Experience in HR policies set-up, HR projects and knowledge of relevant employment legislation is an advantage
- Good organisation and project management skills, adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in social media management
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
- Rigorous analytical and problem solving skills
- Driver of change and collaborative in approach
- Understanding of labour-related legal issues in global jurisdictions
- Good computer literacy e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word
- Good knowledge of cabin crew operational environment and standards (safety, service etc.)
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the airline industry
