The role
As a Senior Supportability Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll have the opportunity to work on one of the most high-profile complex engineering projects in the UK.
Day-to-day, you’ll lead a team of 5-8 Supportability Engineers whilst applying engineering domain knowledge competently to provide technical solutions in the delivery of products and services while developing domain knowledge, experience and leadership skills.
As part of the role you could be involved in one of three parts of the programme:
• Influencing the design of the submarine – maximising ease of support in service
• Developing an in-service support solution which demonstrably satisfies requirements for availability and cost
• Ensuring the submarine can be maintained within safe operating limits
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Senior Supportability Engineer
• Experience of working on Defence ILS programmes
• Project management experience as the role requires the delivery of documentation to time and budget
• Excellent communicator and able to articulate complex arguments for a wide range of stakeholders to understand
• You’ll need to be able demonstrate the motivation to drive issues to completion and to continue your professional development
Qualifications for the Senior Supportability Engineer
• Degree level qualification in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (or related field)
• Holds chartered status or has a demonstratable route to achieve chartered status as part of continuous professional development
