Role Summary
The Senior Commercial Prod Mgr is a subject matter expert in commercial performance of Alaska Airlines’ revenue products (First Class, Main Cabin, ancillaries, etc.). As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions on cross-product strategy for their product portfolio and provides recommendations to address commercial product challenges and deliver business results.
Key Duties

Acts as subject matter expert on assigned products through a deep understanding of customer needs, product policies, and financial statements.

Makes recommendations to optimize cross-product strategy by positioning products according to identified customer needs.

Maintains product roadmaps to maximize revenue growth opportunities using our competitive advantages, and lead market innovation to improve competitive positioning.

Seeks and builds cross divisional relationships to ensure the customer journey is supported across all channels.

Utilizes program management best practices to deliver against program baselines (financial, operational, strategic, etc.), and optimizes product performance.

Makes recommendations on pricing and product attributes to align with enterprise-wide roadmaps.

Partners with Strategy and Business Development leaders to define future product requirements.

Works closely with the Enterprise Project Management Office and business implementation leaders who project manages the implementation of new products or product changes.

Develops and implements product specific go-to-market plans, working across departments to execute on a single, integrated plan.

Monitors key performance indicators (leading and lagging) to ensure performance to business goals and sustained alignment between product design and performance.

Responsible for assigned revenue product P&L, forecast, budget success and management.

Collaborates with leadership to define and communicate ongoing product plans to continually improve the customer/end-user experience leveraging data, user feedback, and product performance.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
-
4 years of experience in product management, program management or product ownership or related area.
-
Bachelor’s degree in a related business field or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree.

Excellent communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening), including informal working team and formal executive presentations, in clear and concise language.

Ability to present both technical and non-technical content to internal and external partners.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Minimum age of 18

Must be authorized to work in the U.S
Preferred

2 years of experience working with data, modeling, or analytics.

Prior airline or travel industry experience

Demonstrated decision making, collaboration, consensus building, negotiation, and teamworking skills including the ability to lead with influence.

Demonstrated ability to lead through change.

Salary Range
$112,000 - $168,000 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
