Job Title: Financial Analyst
Work Location: Birmingham, AL
Requirements:
- This is a hybrid assignment
- BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related degree required
- At least 5 years of experience in financial and accounting disciplines, including financial planning and analysis, financial modeling, and budgeting.
- 7+ years of experience is preferred
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office products is required and knowledge of Company financial applications (PowerPlan, CSS, Oracle Programs, etc.) is preferred
- Thorough knowledge of accounting practices and utility accounting including knowledge of accounting practices including accruals and financial income statements
- Strong analytical, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with commitment to accuracy and detail and able to communicate effectively
- This position will provide financial analysis for the sales teams
- It requires the ability to plan, prioritize and coordinate entire processes without supervision
- This position provides monthly analysis, management identified metrics and end-of-year projections that drive financial accountability
- The candidate will support the team’s financial plans by providing tactical and strategic financing assumptions
- This position will provide support in documenting and assuring that internal controls are operating effectively
- Other duties could include reconciling accounts, researching accounting issues, executing and testing internal controls, working with internal and external auditors and maintaining appropriate documentation
- This position will be responsible for meeting established reporting deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to change
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously and produce timely results in response to frequently changing business needs
- Ability to interact databases and develop ad hoc reports
- Compiling and reporting monthly analysis, projections, management identified metrics and end-of-year projections that drive financial accountability
- This position is also responsible for effective communication of budgets, projections, initiatives, and results to management
