Job Summary
A key role within the Dutch Caribbean QHSE team which combines in-depth knowledge and experience of airport ground operations along with expertise in quality, health & safety, and environmental management. The role holder shall develop and implement the global and regional safety management policies and procedures so that all employees have a safe and healthy working environment and Swissport complies with all current and future regulations and laws.
Implements the Swissport Management System according to ISO 9001, 45001, 14001, ISAGO and any other applicable standards and ensure consistent delivery of services in line with these standards.
Prepares and provides regional and local management with relevant performance measurements and any other status updates for ongoing projects, corrective and preventative action plans related to QHSE.
Job Responsibilities
- Be contact person and subject matter expert, advise and inform the management about QHSE
- topics, proactively collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Promote implementation of applicable standards within the station (guiding and coaching).
- Facilitate and coordinate the HIRA process, including reviews. Document outcome of risk
- Facilitate and coordinate Environmental Impact Analysis (EIA) process, including reviews. document outcome.
- Develop local environmental procedure according to local environmental legal requirement and EIA analysis.
- Promote local environmental, quality and safety objectives and KPIs based on EIA analysis. Plan, prepare and conduct internal QHSE audits at the station; coordinate/ monitor corrective action plans and monitor the operational inspections.
- Assure incident management, reporting and investigation procedures are followed.
- Analyse QHSE indicators and deliver regular performance reports to the Station Management
- Provide advice and facilitate improvement action plans and campaigns.
- Maintain a register of all legislation applicable to occupational health & safety, maintain an oversight and report non-compliances.
- Complement Swissport’s Management System with station specific documents if required.
- Support and where necessary conduct investigations as per requirements in section.
- Other responsibilities:
- Report to the DC head of QHSE on line management basis, and the DC CEO on a ‘dotted line’ basis
- Deliver regular QHSE performance reports to the DC QHSE and CEO,
- Support the annual Management Review process as required by ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Maintain good relations with all stakeholders, customers and airport authorities
Key Performance Indicators
- Station QHSE Scorecard: LTI, ACD, Training compliance, Inspections performed
- Annual QHSE Plan compliance >90%
- External audit findings related to QHSE compliance (ISO, Customer, etc.)
Qualifications And Competencies
- University degree/professional qualifications or equivalent in related field
- 3- 5 years’ experience in safety management and/or management system, in the aviation industry
- Knowledge of country specific laws and industry regulations related to Environmental Health and Safety
- Advanced spoken and written English
- Good oral and written communication, interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and motivate and drive standards at all levels
- A sense of passion for improving QHSE standards and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Ability to persuade, gain support, obtain commitment, and mobilize a team to action
- Advance knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite
- Personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness
