The role
As a Engineering Manager you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Engineering Manager leads the planning and management of multi discipline projects involving the management, coordination and integration of multi discipline tasks. This role leads the engineering team to deliver technical solutions to budget, targets, and estimating the engineering scope for Projects from concept design to full Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC). The management responsibilities include the identification and development of strategic capabilities (people, processes, methods and tools) to meet project and task objectives
Day-to-day, you’ll:
- Ensure effective management of multi discipline teams to ensure timely & efficient delivery of engineering work to meet customer agreed scope
- Promote effective co-operation across Engineering and other functional teams
- Ensure effective management of the customer, including liaison and relationship development with existing and new customers, to aid the development of business, resolution of technical and delivery issues, and such that the customer is fully briefed and informed of progress
- Ensure technical management of the engineering output to ensure delivery of technical solutions in line with agreed technical scope
- Ensure application of highest standards for health and safety in immediate area of responsibility and ensure all team members across engineering co-operate with respect to company standards about matters on health, safety and environment, ethics and behaviours along with managing resource demands
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Engineering Manager:
- Demonstrable management experience, including experience in managing multi discipline teams to deliver analysis activities on a range of project types
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to interface with other disciplines
- Previous experience of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Management
- Experience of working within a similar, highly regulated industry
