The Controller Projects Consultant delivers on our Purpose by joining the RevenueAccounting Projects Team, working as a cross-functional consulting group to provide support on Commercial, Enterprise, and Technology projects. This role partners with cross-functional Teams to evaluate the impact of Department and Company initiatives on Finance systems, processes, and procedures. This includes maintaining internal controls, mitigating business and financial risk, and balancing Customer Experience. The Controller Projects Consultant is a resourceful Team player who looks forward to driving their own career with Heart.

Responsibilities
- Consult with project Teams on enterprise-wide technology projects, system upgrades and process improvement efforts and share critical business and financial requirements with a focus on optimizing revenue and costs, maintaining appropriate internal controls, and mitigating risk
- Collaborate with cross functional Team Members to analyze financial and operational data, and provide options regarding impact of expected changes to system functionality, revenues and expenses, internal controls, Finance resources, processes and procedures
- Coordinates methods to execute, test and implement project deliverables balancing Stakeholder’s needs and desired results to successfully complete projects.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of the airline industry and Finance function(s) to evaluate impacts to systems and processes, and collect necessary information/data to provide guidance and resolve questions and errors
- Provide recommendations to maintain or improve the integrity of financial systems through periodic testing, validation of master data, and confirmation that the systems are working as expected
- Generate ideas for high-level performance improvement opportunities for Finance and enterprise-wide projects; serve as subject matter expert
- Prepare and present ad Hoc analyses and reports describing financial and operational impacts in layman’s terms; communicate how conclusions were drawn and the impact on upstream and downstream users
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leader
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge software systems and tools, including database tools, used in performance of day-to-day functional duties
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data, internal controls and SOX compliance, industry trends, customer payments and refunds policies
- Skilled in project management of complex, enterprise-wide technology and process improvement projects
- Skilled in asking probing questions, assimilating responses, developing action plans and meeting internal/external Stakeholder requirements, expectations, and needs
- Skilled in effectively communicating information and ideas in a concise and compelling story-line using all forms of communication, tailoring tone, style and content to the intended audience up to the executive level
- Ability to challenge others’ assumptions and goals in a constructive manner; works toward mutually agreed upon outcomes
- Ability to anticipate future and/or strategic trends within the industry and assessing implications for the Department and/or enterprise
- Ability to uncover root causes to complex problems; presents comprehensive solutions considering all positively or negatively impacted systems, processes and procedures
- Ability to utilize executive presence in front of all levels of management and represent the department at cross-functional meetings to to communicate compelling arguments with conclusions and insights to support decisions, with data to back up proposed solutions
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
- Accounting, Finance, Business, Management Information Systems
- Financial and business risks and impacts
- Financial system master data and integrations
- Technology project support and testing
- Project Management
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space workstation/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information
- Must have flexibility to work extended hours during the week and weekend, including Company holidays, during quarterly close or special projects
- Some travel, including to international locations, is required
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $100,700.00 - $111,900.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
