Job Description:
Our site near Culpeper, VA, in beautiful, rural Orange County (1.5 hours from Washington, DC) is growing! This site is our center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development as well as high-complexity production programs.
Engineering Technician supports tooling in prescribing compounds and providing preventive maintenance to complex custom equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, and laboratory areas.
- Assists in the test and check-out of custom tooling.
- Works from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
- May work with complex machines or computer systems.
- Performs calibration and alignment check, prepares prescribed compounds and solutions
- Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
- Performs complete Preventive Maintenance on complex custom Tooling.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior mechanical/lab experience or 2 years post. Secondary/Associates Degree with 2 years of prior mechanical/lab experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Tooling experience is preferred.
- Familiarity of GD&T.
- Previous mechanical knowledge.
