Job Description:
We are seeking a Fusion Welder A/B/C specializing in Laser Welding to work at our West Palm Beach, FL facility to plan, setup and perform all types of fusion welding on production, experimental, and development parts, components, tools, and equipment. Also performs automated laser and electron beam welding functions.
The level at which this job is filled will depend on the skills and experience of the selected candidate.
Essential Functions:
- Identify and utilize the appropriate welding supplies, equipment, fixtures, and settings to perform the required job to specification.
- Work from drawing, sketches, operation methods, and work instructions to setup work for moderate to complex welding scenarios.
- Utilize appropriate pre-heat techniques when necessary to prevent distortion.
- Assist in developing weld schedules and machine parameters/programs for automated welding.
- Perform retort welding, induction, and other brazing and silver soldering as required.
- Perform necessary maintenance at operator level of tools and equipment. Also follow and comply with policies, including safety and environmental regulations.
- Perform other related duties to welding operations as assigned, to assist with production demands.
- Pass a background investigation to obtain a security clearance (classified/secret)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, and 1-3 years’ direct related experience is a minimum requirement.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Extensive experience with all types of welding equipment: laser welder, electron beam, conventional, computerized, automatic, semi-automatic, and induction heating equipment.
- CNC weld control experience Fanuc Model 30i or similar
- Capable to layouting and performing complex welding jobs, to include: laying beads on joints where little room is available to maneuver the torch, or a mirror is necessary to observe bead, and being able to maintain proper atmosphere and utilize necessary enclosures, cover to purge the atmosphere, and retain the inert environment for the weld.
- Able to perform necessary calculations; and interpret, explain, and apply applicable codes and regulations; read and interpret graphic instructions such as drawings, sketches, models, and other visual aids.
- Technical training certification is welcome.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $33.76/hr - $51.91/hr.
