Astronics Advanced Electrical Systems (AES) is seeking a Manager, Sales & Support to join our Ballard Technology Product Group based out of our Everett, WA and Kirkland, WA sites.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager of Sales & Support leads the sales and support team by developing talent, driving sales performance through effective processes and metrics, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This role aligns people, processes, and systems with a customer-focused strategy to meet department and product group objectives. As part of the Product Group leadership team, the Manager contributes to the organization's culture, employee development, vision, and systems.
JOB DUTIES
Managerial Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement sales and support strategies, setting measurable goals aligned with the company’s mission.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Performance Management: Define performance standards, provide feedback, and address issues to ensure productivity and quality.
- Decision-Making: Analyze challenges, identify opportunities, and develop solutions to support team and organizational success.
- Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation to meet fiscal objectives.
Sales & Support Responsibilities
- Apply industry best practices in sales and support, collaborating with Marketing and Engineering to deliver optimal customer solutions.
- Champion customer intimacy by solving problems, responding flexibly, and nurturing long-term relationships.
- Align sales activities with strategic business plans and set team goals to achieve measurable results.
- Analyze market trends to identify opportunities and risks.
- Leverage CRM tools to track metrics, support decision-making, and drive performance improvements.
- Evaluate sales opportunities for alignment with company capabilities and profitability goals.
- Lead negotiations for key customer contracts and long-term agreements.
- Manage Rep and Distributor agreements to achieve business objectives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support demand forecasts, production planning, and proposal development.
- Build and maintain product pricing models and aftermarket processes, including spares and repair pricing.
- Develop training and processes to empower the customer service team to resolve issues effectively and independently.
- Drive superior customer satisfaction measured through scorecards, surveys, and internal metrics.
- Support sales activities with up to 10% travel as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years in aerospace technical sales, including 5 years of people management experience.
- Knowledge: Expertise in sales and support processes, contract management, and trade compliance.
- Skills: Proven leadership, team accountability, and ability to develop key performance metrics.

EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.
- An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background screen and drug test.
Salary range for this position is $122,003- $184,004 per year. Mid-point for the range is $152,503.
At Astronics AES, it is more typical for an individual to be hired closer to the mid-point than near the top of the range.
