Newcastle Airport Appoints Linc Horton as New CEO

Newcastle Airport has announced the appointment of Linc Horton as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective May 5, 2025. The leadership transition comes at a pivotal time for the airport, which is set to open its new International Terminal and expand its partnerships with Australia’s defence industry.

Horton brings extensive experience in property development and airport operations, having served as Global Head of Property for Toll Group in recent years. Toll Group reported $7.6 billion in revenue for the 2022 fiscal year. Prior to that, he spent over a decade at Melbourne Airport as Chief of Property, where he oversaw commercial property development, capital projects, and facilities management. Under his leadership, Melbourne Airport’s commercial estate grew into a $105 million-per-year business.

Before his tenure in Australia, Horton worked in the UK as Investment Director for BAA Lynton, managing investment strategy and the Airport Property Partnership. His reputation for deal-making and strong stakeholder relationships has made him a respected figure in the industry.

In addition to his corporate roles, Horton serves as Chair of North Link, a Melbourne-based business association focused on economic development. He is also the Deputy Chair of Regional Development Australia’s Melbourne Committee.

Jude Munro AO, Chair of Newcastle Airport’s Board, expressed confidence in Horton’s leadership, stating, “We are thrilled that Linc will be joining the airport to lead our team. His extensive experience in airports and property development, along with his proven ability to drive commercial success, makes him the ideal choice for this role.”

Horton said he is eager to take on the new position, recognizing Newcastle Airport’s vital role in the economic growth of the Hunter Region. “I am excited to be joining the airport at this transformative time. It is clear the airport plays a pivotal role in the region’s success, and I look forward to contributing to its future growth,” he said. “My wife and I are also looking forward to moving to the Hunter region and experiencing everything it has to offer for a family with teenage children.”

Horton will assume his new role on May 5, 2025, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Newcastle Airport as it continues its expansion and strengthens its regional impact.
