The Role
As a Commercial Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Managing existing contracts, undertaking negotiations, pricing activities and dynamic contractual risk assessments along with supporting tender and organic growth activities at every level to achieve our customer’s mission.
Day-to-day, you’ll be working to support a range of contracts from design to through life support of critical systems and equipment’s to our customers whilst driving the business and contracts forward.
- Providing contract management and governance support to project teams.
- Undertaking negotiations and pricing activities in support of organic or new growth opportunities.
- Working collaboratively with our customers and projects teams to support the development innovative and pragmatic commercial solutions in a dynamic environment.
- Act as the commercial point of contact for all queries from the project team.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 1 day per month in the office/onsite and remaining days working from home. However, you may be required to work for longer periods of time if the project demands.
Essential Experience of the Commercial Specialist
- Experience of managing and understanding contracts in matrix organisations from across industry.
- Commercially driven and can support commercial innovation with a good business awareness of customers and competitors.
- Understanding and has experience in the creation of proposals whether as organic growth or for new opportunities.
- Experience of project management and prioritising deliverables to independently manage concurrent and multiple business change projects and day to day operations simultaneously.
Qualifications for the Commercial Specialist
- Ideally be degree qualified (or equivalent) in Engineering, Business, Law, Accountancy but not essential.
- Functional qualifications achieved, or would be willing to work towards, may include, World Commerce and Contracting association (WCC) or Post Graduate Certificate in Commercial Management (PGCCM).
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. However, the successful candidate can start on Standard (BPSS) security clearance but will need to gain Security Clearance (SC). Also, there is a potential for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) security clearance.
