The Role
As a Production Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be playing an important role in maintaining the project teams’ high level of on time delivery, to both internal and external stakeholders, whilst ensuring the mandated governance of the project is adhered to.
Day-to-day, you’ll be liaising with the core team and cross function stakeholders to ensure all deliverables are met whilst maintaining a collaborative working environment. You will also take accountability for critical business requirements from day one. You will be in a prominent position within a high performing team, responsible for the programme delivery of new class Submarines.
- Planning and controlling finances by means of accurate estimation, forecast to complete and strong monitoring and control of spend.
- Actively identifying, planning and controlling risk and opportunity to maximise value for the customer and our business.
- Establishing and maintaining governance arrangements for the delivery of the project, defining clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities across all project stakeholders, and ensuring they are communicated.
- Implementing and enforcing project reporting policies, ensuring reports are accurate, timely and presented in a professional and appropriate format.
- Providing strong engagement with key stakeholder throughout the project at all levels.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 4 days in the office/onsite and 1 day working from home, once embedded into the organisation and training has been completed.
Essential Experience of the Production Project Manager
- Experience in a project management environment within industry.
- Confident collaborator with experience working in partnership.
- Knowledge of project controls tools and how these tools operate to provide key information for decision making.
- Production or manufacturing experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills / stakeholder management – communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and with external bodies.
- Experience of the full project lifecycle is desirable.
Qualifications for the Production Project Manager
- Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or Project Management Qualification (PMQ) (desirable) or equivalent.
- UK driving Licence.
- Working towards chartership.
