The role
As a Mechanical Calibration Fitter, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will help with calibration, diagnosis and repair of Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).
Day-to-day, you’ll achieve successful, timely, completion of work packages, meeting safety and quality standards.
- Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with the Company’s cost, time and quality requirements.
- Implementation of the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies in the Instrumentation and Calibration area of the business ensuring that assessments of risks are carried out which lead to safe working attitudes and practices.
- Calibration, adjustment, diagnosis and repair of various types of TMDE.
- Produce Calibration Checklists for new models of TMDE and assist in the assessment of new Calibration Procedures
- Perform Mechanical Fitter duties including NCF equipment inspection and repair of equipment.
This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.
This role is full time 36 hours per week Monday – Friday with a half day on Friday and is based on site at Faslane.
Essential experience of the Mechanical Calibration Fitter
- Knowledge of instrumentation and calibration procedures, theory, techniques and processes (Mechanical);
- Knowledge of Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments
- Working experience with pressure systems
- Working experience in a mechanical fitting environment
Qualifications for the Mechanical Calibration Fitter
- SVQ Level 3 in a relevant mechanical discipline / recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship (or equivalent)
