The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an Assurance Lead - Internal Auditor to be part of the Assurance, Risk & Compliance team in Brisbane. You will provide a team leader role in supporting the Audit & Assurance Team in the planning and execution of the Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) audit and assurance program.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead, coordinate and conduct system, process and product audits to determine compliance with Quality, Safety and Environment management system standards, configuration assurance, related business, regulatory and customer requirements
- Collate, interpret and present audit results and outcomes to management
- Develop and implement integrated audit plans, ensuring thorough documentation and reporting of findings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster an integrated approach and culture of continuous improvement
- Prepare and maintain internal audit deliverables, including working papers, report, audit findings, status updates and analysis of key trends and present to senior management.
- Train and coach internal team members, as appropriate, to enhance employee performance through expansion of skills and capabilities
- Effectively manage relationships within Operations, Assurance, Risk and Compliance team and with cross-business key stakeholders to support appropriate resource allocation and ensure deliverables and timelines are met
- Continuous learning to remain abreast of industry standards and best practices to enhance audit processes, lead and enable continuous improvement
To be successful you will have:
- Proven experience as a Lead Auditor in the aerospace or related industry
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Quality and/or Safety Auditor with proven skills in developing, implementing and conducting complex audit reviews
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of relevant Safety and Quality ISO and AS standards
- Strong understanding of DASR Part 145, Part M, and Part 21J frameworks (preferred)
- Working knowledge of ISO 31000 and ISO 17025 (optional)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively build and manage key stakeholder relationships and work in a team environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Relevant certifications in auditing (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) are preferred
