Job Title: CMM Manufacturing Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented CMM Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in the Turbine Blade Facility in Derby.
As a CMM Manufacturing Engineer, you will be working in the Turbine Blade Facility Proof Inspection team within the Turbines commodity, which is one of the fastest growing and advanced business units within the Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace Supply Chain.
You’ll be self-motivated and be technically capable of writing CMM programmes for Turbine Blade inspection in the TBF. You will also be required to give a level of production support for the automated measurement equipment and programs within the facility as well as be able to carry out proof inspection of Turbine Blade products.

What you will be doing
As a CMM Manufacturing Engineer you will be working in the TBF Manufacturing Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the CMM program development, validation and production support on all parts within the facility. Also, to ensure that our production parts are capable of meeting and continuing to meet business and customer requirements for safety, quality, cost, deliver rate and lead time. In this role, you will:
- Create, modify and overcheck CMM programs.
- Ensure CMM inspection processes which are developed and validated are fully compliant with drawing and regulatory requirements.
- Support New Product Introduction projects through creating suites of inspection programs for development and production hardware.
- Influence the direction of TBF inspection strategies, ensuring that all the future product requirements are included and will be met.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant company, legislative, and technical policies and standards, including Export Control, Intellectual Property, and Cyber Security requirements.

- Previous experience in measurement activities with a deep understanding of the subject. Rolls-Royce uses the National Metrology Skills Alliance standards for metrology. You will be able to show experience that demonstrates you have skills at Level 2 or above in most of the categories of NMSA 1 and NMSA 2.1 or equivalent.
- Degree level in a Manufacturing, Mechanical or Materials discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Experience of using MCOSMOS (or equivalent) with proven experience of creation and validation of automated measurements inspection programs to AS13003 (or equivalent).
- Experience of supporting and solving production issues with automated measurement equipment.
- Proficient IT skills (Minitab, Microsoft Office, Project). Basic programming experience (Python, VBA, etc.) is beneficial.
- Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and the drive to deliver within a challenging, high volume, production environment.
- Practical experience in Manufacturing Engineering within a production facility, including delivery of improvement projects using Six Sigma tools and techniques is desirable.
- Understanding of automated visual inspection (such as OGP and Werth) is desirable but not essential.
