The Role
As a Finance Business Partner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This role supports the customers mission which fully supports Babcock’s mission to create a safer world together.
Day-to-day, you’ll report to the Lead Finance Business Partner you will be responsible for providing key financial support to the Space Business Unit as well as working closely with the Operational team to improve processes and provide robust, accurate analysis through meaningful reporting to enable informed decisions. The role will support the operating business and our tendering and organic growth. This role will be a key contributor to the business and the accuracy of its forecasting.
- Provide meaningful and accurate information to the Finance Director, Lead Finance Business Partner and to the Space Business Unit.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with the business leads, managers and bidding teams with the ability to hold reviews with the Operational teams and act as a critical friend.
- Provide key financial support to internal and external audits, ensuring accuracy, compliance and quality is maintained at all times.
- Projects to be constantly reviewed to ensure trading margins are accurate and compliant with IFRS15 revenue recognition standards.
- Input towards the monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, Overhead review packs and Cash Management, reviewing regularly with all key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the wider finance teams, other finance business partners and the wider Group to ensure compliance and consistency across the group.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and requires regular travel to Ashton Vale, Oakhanger, Colerne and Hawthorn alongside home working arrangements.
Essential Experience of the Finance Business Partner
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office – in particular, Excel modelling skills, good knowledge of MS Office.
- Advanced numeric, analytical and technical skills.
- Ability to understand and manipulate data to present clear and concise financial messages for review.
- Proactive planner and project manager.
- Strong cross-functional networking and collaboration skills.
Qualifications for the Finance Business Partner
- Ideally would hold a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, ACMA, ICAS, ICAEW) or equivalent / similar.
- Clean Full UK Driving Licence
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
