About the team you are joining
IATA’s Slots, Infrastructure and Customer Experience (SLICE) team covers a wide range of topics relating to airport and ANSP infrastructure, how it is charged for, slots, passenger experience and facilitation.
Within the SLICE team, the Airport Development team engages with airports, governments and key industry stakeholders to advocate for demand led, fit-for-purpose airport facilities that are cost efficient to develop and operate.
To support effective capacity development IATA develops and publishes the Airport Development Reference Manual (ADRM) – a key reference guide in the industry for airport planning and design outlining industry best practices, that is used by various stakeholders including Airports, Airlines, Regulators, Governments, airport planning consultants, engineers, and architects.
The Airport Development team also develops industry positions, supporting tools and training materials across a range of activities to support our advocacy objectives.
What your day would be like
You will be responsible for the following activities:
Airport Development Reference Manual
Coordination with all key internal stakeholders from relevant departments, as well as external industry stakeholders (such as airport planning consultants, engineering firms) to support the following:
Coordination and administration of ADRM “Think Tank” Working Group stakeholders contributing to content development.
Support benchmarking and data collection to inform content development as may be required.
Monitor the overall Program and Working Group project plans and activities.
Support coordination between Working Groups and Working Group Leaders where dependencies exist.
Attend ADRM Think Tank and Working Group meetings to record accurate and succinct minutes and actions.
Other Activities as may be required
Support research, analysis and implementation including airport workshops, planning and administrative activities for the following projects as required:
DIPIP –focused on the removal of physical segregation of passengers in terminals enabled by biometrics.
Airport Service Quality Framework research and analysis to inform IATA guidance
Conditions of Use (CoU) research and analysis to inform IATA guidance.
Research on airport capacity to inform bottlenecks and congestion e.g. runways and terminals.
Other activities supporting the development of airport development guidance or advocacy as required.
We would love to hear from you if
A relevant university degree; obtained within the last twelve months. A post-graduate qualification in Airport Planning, Management or Engineering would be an asset.
An aptitude in desktop research with a basic understanding of airport terminology and the associated regulation would be an asset.
A willingness to help manage projects with multiple stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills with the ability and self-confidence to work with stakeholders to a senior management level.
Ability to make clear presentations and prepare reports based on technical merits and facts.
Strong organizational and planning skills. Excel and modelling skills would be an additional asset.
Fluent English is essential.
Comfortable working independently and within a team, and be able to self-motivate to achieve results for internal and external stakeholders.
