Job Description
- Build and maintain influential stakeholder relationships across regional airports, driving collaboration and operational excellence.
- Lead supplier performance management, ensuring compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement across the network.
- Harness technology and data analytics (including Power BI) to monitor performance, identify trends, and deliver efficiency initiatives.
- Two-year fixed-term role based in Melbourne, with flexibility to travel to regional ports as required.

As a
Base Operations Manager, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations across Eastern Australia Airlines’ extensive regional network. This role provides remote support for 53+ airports, 12 lounges, and oversees critical operational elements such as Ground Service Equipment (GSE), IT systems, signage, and uniform logistics.
This isn’t just an operational role—it’s an opportunity to influence strategy and drive transformation. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver key objectives of safety, punctuality, and service excellence, while leading initiatives that improve customer experience and reduce costs. You’ll also play a key role in new port start-ups, ground handler transitions, and major projects shaping the future of our network.
To Be Successful, You’ll Have
- Previous airport operational experience (preferred), with a strong understanding of above and below wing processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage third-party suppliers, negotiate and maintain contracts, and build strong relationships to influence outcomes and achieve operational excellence.
- Proven leadership capability to inspire and guide teams across multiple locations, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret safety data, monitor On-Time Performance (OTP) metrics, and implement improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and customer experience.
- Technical proficiency, including intermediate Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with Power BI or similar data tools.
- Resilience and adaptability to navigate complexity in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment with competing priorities.
- Flexibility to travel to various ports domestically as required.
