ResponsibilitiesResponsible for administration, communication and analysis of all Leave Programs. Will serve as subject matter expert and resource to all management. Ensures all programs maintain compliance with
applicable Company policies, collective bargaining agreements, insurance contracts, HIPPA laws, Federal and State laws, Department of Labor regulations as well as ADA and OSHA regulations.
- Disability Programs – Assumes responsibility to manage all activities and progress of claims reported for FMLA and Long Term Disability. Works with claims adjusters to ensure that all claims are closely overseen. Develops, implements and monitors reporting forms, procedures and activities.
- Workforce Leave Administration – Reviews and approves requests for PLOA, Jury Duty, Military and Bereavement Leaves through required documentation. Ensures compliance in Company policies as well as ADA.
- Tracks attendance and coordinates with Crewpay. Verifies appropriate leave of absence and return to work documents. Provides information to determine discipline and termination when applicable.
- Compliance - Ensures all programs maintain compliance with applicable company policies, collective bargaining agreements, insurance contracts, Department of Labor regulations as well as ADA and OSHA regulations.
- Vendor Liaison – Develops reports and responds to inquiries of information to make eligibility decisions.
- Management Reporting – Advises managers regarding the status of claims and validity.
- Compensation Metrics Reporting – Tracks and reports requested metrics
data. - Subject Matter Expert - Maintains in-depth knowledge and expertise in regulations, policies and procedures for FMLA, Long Term Disability, ADA.
- Disability Payroll Processing – Oversees attendance for Crewmember out on Long Term disability, Personal Leave of Absence, Maternity and CBA Medical Leave.
- Coordinates with CrewPay Department for regarding payroll and bank usage.
- Customer Service – Assists in employees’ concerns, questions, and issues as well as guidance in understanding CBA and leave of absences policies and procedures.
Qualifications- Regulatory Knowledge (Preferred): understanding of regulations related to FMLA, Long Term Disability, ADA, and OSHA to ensure compliance and manage claims effectively, though not required.
- Analytical Skill: Strong ability to analyze claims, attendance data, and compliance metrics, allowing for informed decision-making and reporting to management.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in reviewing documentation related to leave requests and ensuring compliance with company policies, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to interact with employees, management, and vendors, ensuring clarity in leave policies and procedures.
- Customer Service Orientation: A strong commitment to assisting employees with their leave-related concerns and questions, providing guidance and support.
- Project Management Skills: The capability to manage multiple leave programs and reporting processes efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate handling of claims.
