Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a self-motivated Electrical Components & Materials Laboratory Engineer to work in Huntington Beach, CA.
The candidate is required to work with senior engineers and program management customers. Develop lab evaluation plans, report findings and create presentations. This is a full-time laboratory position that requires background knowledge in EEE parts, fabrication and device physics of electrical components and electrical materials, and PWBs.
Position Responsibilities:
Perform visual inspection using Keyence microscopes, radiography using Real-Time X-Ray, and material analysis using SEM-EDS, XRF, FLIR, and other spectroscopic techniques
Analyze data, make recommendations, and write comprehensive reports
Coordinate and implement new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts
Develop and maintain laboratory processes and instructions
Implement lean principles and technologies
This is a full-time laboratory position. The candidate is expected to be 100% onsite.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
5+ years of experience in electrical components & material evaluations, Failure Analysis (FA), Construction Analysis (CA) and Destruct Physical Analysis (DPA) and Printed Wiring Board (PWB) Coupon Analysis, and electrical component authentication based on industry (AS6171), military (MIL-STD-1580), & IPC standards (IPC-A-600 & IPC-6012) and methods (i.e., MIL-STD-202, MIL-STD-883, etc.) on Electrical, Electronic, & Electro-mechanical (EEE) parts/components and electrical materials including interconnect cables used in hi-reliable applications.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
4+ years' experience in EEE parts and component testing, electrical DC/AC parametric Testing
SEM-EDS and XRF evaluations of materials and components.
Automation using LabView software - LabView & Python extensive/complicated programming.
Use Impedance analyzer, LCR meter, micrometer/electrometer, and data acquisition cards
Use of network analyzers, oscilloscopes, various power supplies, curve tracer, etc.
Understanding failure mechanisms of EEE parts, plastic encapsulated microcircuits/devices (PEMs & PEDs) and automotive grade AEC parts
Typical Education/Experience:
Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Typical summary pay ranges:
Level 3: $114,750 - $155,250
Level 4: $138,550 - $187,450
