IT Enterprise / Strategic ArchitectOverview / ResponsibilitiesThe IT Enterprise / Strategic Architect will be responsible for:

Leading enterprise architecture assessments across assigned portfolios.

Gathering and reviewing current documentation such as strategic plans, technology roadmaps, and architecture materials.

Analyzing current-state application portfolios, including core capability, system health, technology risks, alignment with target architecture, and ability to meet business objectives.

Conducting stakeholder interviews and workshops.
-
Mapping current-state architecture to target-state architecture.
-
Assessing opportunities and gaps at both micro (program) and macro (enterprise) levels, and developing conceptual future-state architectures.
-
Recommending strategies for integrating emerging technologies, including AI-based solutions.
-
Prioritizing future-state initiatives based on risk and business impact.
-
Developing a target-state alignment and transition plan.
-
Presenting findings to leadership and governance bodies.
-
Creating repeatable patterns for iterative assessments, gap analysis, and future-state recommendations.
-
Contributing to business case development for strategic architecture initiatives.
-
Providing ongoing knowledge transfer to internal staff.
Skill Requirements

Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks used for structuring analysis and design.

Ability to evaluate current-state architecture for redundancy, gaps, and strategic alignment.

Skills in data modeling, data governance, and using analytics to inform decisions.

Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their practical application.

Ability to translate business objectives into technology strategies and architecture roadmaps.

Experience mapping current-state to future-state architecture and identifying transition steps.

Ability to assess modernization and AI-related risks.

Strong facilitation skills to engage stakeholders and incorporate security, privacy, and accessibility considerations.

Ability to create clear, concise reports and executive-level presentations.

Demonstrated thought leadership and strategic advisory capability.

Proficiency with architecture modelling tools.

Experience with data visualization/analysis tools (e.g., Power BI).

Understanding of agile methodologies for planning deliverables.

Extensive experience in systems analysis and design in large enterprise environments.

Experience using CASE tools (e.g., PowerDesigner, Visio).

Awareness of emerging technologies and industry trends.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Must Haves

Strong knowledge of EA frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) with demonstrated experience in structured architecture analysis and design.

Proven portfolio analysis skills, including evaluating application health, risks, and alignment.

Understanding of AI/ML concepts and strategies for technology integration.

Experience supporting business case development for strategic and technology initiatives.
