Qantas is establishing a new Product Innovation Centre in Adelaide a hub that will transform how we design, build and deliver digital experiences for millions of customers. At its core is a shift to a product-led operating model: moving away from traditional project-based IT delivery toward empowered, cross-functional product teams that own outcomes end-to-end.
As General Manager, Product Innovation Centre, you'll be responsible for both establishing the centre and leading its ongoing operations. You'll oversee teams across four key experience areas -Purchasing, Ground, Inflight, and Customer Care - and be accountable for embedding this new operating model at scale, building the structures, governance and ways of working that enable teams to move faster, experiment boldly, and deliver sustained commercial value.
This is more than a technology leadership role. You'll be leading teams that build world-class digital products for millions of customers - establishing how product teams are organised, how decisions are made, and how AI enables faster experimentation and delivery across the product development lifecycle. You'll build talent pipelines through university partnerships and lead the cultural shift required to embed product-led ways of working across the organisation.
You’ll Have:
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in digital product, technology, or transformation roles
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale organisational change (300+ people) in complex, regulated industries
- Proven track record building and scaling digital product teams, ideally in a greenfield or transformation context
- Deep understanding of product-led operating models and the organisational structures, governance, and ways of working required to make them succeed
- Experience with full P&L accountability
- Bachelor's degree in Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field; postgraduate qualifications in Business Administration, Technology Management, or Innovation are highly desirable
- Experience building partnerships with universities, government, or industry bodies is highly desirable
