Job Description
You will be the Production Operations Manager for the Advanced Programs Production Operations team. Our team is responsible for delivering affordable, scalable manufacturing solutions that enable rapid fielding of advanced air‑ and missile‑defense systems.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Production Operations Manager you will be responsible for leading all Production Operations activities across the IAMD NKAD portfolio and the Rapid Fielding Center.
Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Directing cost, schedule, and quality performance for prototyping and development hardware builds.
- Leading capital, capacity, and facility‑project planning to support rapid fielding.
- Driving design‑for‑manufacturability, affordability, and producibility across programs.
- Managing the NKAD Production Operations team and the Rapid Fielding Center (≈20% of effort).
- Coordinating with cross‑functional partners—including Advanced Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and Program Management—to align strategy and execution.

Security Clearance Requirement
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must have the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality tools for design and manufacturing applications
- Familiarity with Robotic Automation capabilities
- Familiarity with Factory modeling and simulation tools and applications
- Business acumen, with emphasis on Business Development, Capture strategy, and Operations strategy
- TRL/MRL knowledge and experience
- Transition to production knowledge and experience
- Experience on Production Phases of programs
- Contracting: familiarity with Other Transaction Authority (OTA) and Middle Tier of Acquisition
- Related professional level career experience in production operations
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
- Production Operations leadership experience
- Experience in program development with emphasis on cross-functional collaboration and leadership
- Experience in capacity & capital planning
- Understanding and wide application of assembly and test methods
- First Unit Flow planning & execution
- Manufacturing & test statement of work and
proposal development experience
- Experience with Make-Buy generation and strategy
- Experience in the design of manufacturing
processes, procedures, and production layouts for
assemblies, equipment installation, machining and material handling
- CAM Certification or cost analysis experience
- Design for Assembly (DFA) familiarity or experience
- Ability to Lead with Vision and driven to Shape the Future

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
