Who Are We Looking For?
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminology, Political Science, Public Administration, or any related field.
- Preferably with experience in security investigations, intelligence, or law enforcement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess threats and develop comprehensive security reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Filipino.
- Knowledge of civil aviation security standards and government regulatory requirements is an advantage.
- Able to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and database systems.
- Willing to travel and work beyond regular hours, as necessary.
What’s The Role All About?
As part of the Investigation and Intelligence Division (IID), the Security Officer plays a key role in upholding Philippine Airlines’ security posture by conducting investigations, preparing threat assessments, and supporting intelligence-gathering operations. This position ensures adherence to internal security protocols and compliance with national and international aviation security regulations. The role is vital in identifying and mitigating threats to the company, its personnel, and its operations.
Major Responsibility Areas
- Conduct investigations on threats, acts of unlawful interference, and other security-related incidents as directed.
- Review security reports submitted by PAL personnel and service providers for compliance with procedures.
- Prepare intelligence reports, threat assessments, and security briefings for management.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on local and international security-related developments.
- Perform background checks on PAL and service provider personnel and ensure proper documentation.
- Maintain and update security investigation records in the PAL Security Database System.
- Assist in the evaluation and issuance of Facility Access Passes (FAP), vehicle passes, and related clearances.
- Provide security support during events, inaugural flights, and VIP movements.
- Coordinate with government agencies for security clearances and maintain liaison networks.
- Support compliance with regulatory and internal security standards, including PAL’s SeMS and CMM.
- Perform administrative tasks such as report preparation, inventory, and documentation.
- Carry out other related duties as may be assigned by the IID Manager or Vice President for Security.
