Position Summary
JOB PURPOSE
The Strategic Buyer supports the development and execution of our global commodity strategies working closely with internal stakeholders and key suppliers. Will manage transition of strategic sourcing & re-sourcing projects through to FAI approval aligning with sites on production handover.
MAIN DUTIES
Supports the development and implementation of commodity strategies for allocated sites, ensuring conformance to Meggitt policies, processes and direction.
Manages source change & sourcing activity from idea generation through to FAI approval & production handover adhering to agreed processes and resolving issues that arise in an effective and timely manner
Carries out supplier research, evaluation & selection and to continually strengthen our supply base and ensure we are matching opportunities with appropriate suppliers.
Develops and negotiates contracts as required and managesenforcement of contractual obligations with suppliers within allocated commodities.
Works with internal stakeholders to ensure we are identifying opportunities to drive down cost, eliminate the risk of adverse PCV and drive optimum supply chain performance. Supports resolution of cost, quality and delivery issues within the site & regional team as requested.
Works within the regional team to deliver against agreed KPIs supporting our wider procurement strategy
- Review performance data related to purchasing effectiveness and take a role in driving corrective actions where necessary. Proactively work with major suppliers within assigned commodities to discover and exploit opportunities for continuous improvement, performance improvement, savings, and other efficiencies by working across supplier and internal organizations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Proceed saving project to comply with Global.
Control inventory.
- Dealing with supplier to shorten the LT, solving the shortage issue.
JOBHOLDER REQUIREMENTS
More than 5 years or more work experience in the manufacturing set up in the direct material procurement.
- Fluent in English (speaking, writing, listening, and reading)
- Experience using Oracle, SAP, ERP or other Purchasing system.
- Good at Excel, VBA/ Power BI.
