- $95,000 - $110,000 USD per annum

As the
Operational and People Safety Advisor (Americas), you’ll play a key advisory role within the Qantas Airlines Safety team. Working as a part of a small team, you’ll manage the development, implementation, and oversight of safety and security strategies, frameworks, policies, and procedures for Qantas Airways business areas in the Americas region. The focus being to drive continuous improvement, focused on critical risk management in a “just culture” model. This is to be achieved by working with the business units, Safety Reps, employees and contractors to ensure regulatory compliance and delivery of a proactive safety culture in a complex and dynamic industry.
You’ll have –
- Tertiary qualifications in Safety or a related field.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in an Occupational Safety and Health role and demonstrate a record of delivering improvement, ideally within an aviation or operational environment.
- Proven ability to work comfortably with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing safety strategies within a large operational business.
- Sound understanding of OSHA legislation and human factors principles.
- Experience working with critical risks.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with staff, management, and regulators.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of environmental management principles and issues.
- A proactive, flexible mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
