START:2:00 pm until 10:00 pm shift
Primary Duties:
- Operate and assist in operating multi-spindle automatic screw machines.
- Install chucks and collets, set and secure tooling holders.
- Check parts produced for dimensional and finish conformance to specifications. Remove and reset tooling or otherwise adjust machine as required.
- Maintain statistical process control charting. Also operate PC stations for charting SPC readings.
- Learn to use all standard, variable and attribute gauging to check work.
- Remove machined parts, bar ends and turnings from machines. Remove oil and separate chips from parts. Restock machine with raw materials.
- Responsible for keeping all tooling used in their area inventoried and organized in the mini-cribs.
- Learn to install and adjust tooling outlined in the 60-90-120-day skill sheet.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Understand part numbers and be able to read them.
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Detail oriented.Good judgment to comply with instructions and standard procedures, methods or practices.
- Need to understand and be able to work with and around chemicals
- Needs to have basic shop.If have not attended basic shop, will be required to attend next class.
Physical Requirements:
Continuously lifting and moving very light weight material (1-5 lbs.)
Frequently lifting and moving average weight material (5-50 lbs)
Occasional lifting and moving heavy weight material up to (50 lbs. +) with assistance
