Position Title: Chief Manager – Quality Engineer
Location: Gurugram, Haryana
Department: Engineering & Maintenance – Quality
Reports To: Head of Quality / VP – Engineering
Role Objective
The Chief Manager – Quality Engineer will be responsible for leading and overseeing the
quality assurance and compliance functions across Leading Airline's engineering and maintenance operations. This role ensures adherence to
regulatory standards (DGCA, EASA, FAA, etc.), internal quality systems, and best industry practices, while driving a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Quality Assurance (QA) team for audits, inspections, and compliance monitoring.
- Ensure strict adherence to DGCA CAR, EASA Part 145/Part M, FAA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Quality Management Systems (QMS) in line with airline operations.
- Oversee audit programs (internal, external, and regulatory), corrective action plans, and follow-ups.
- Manage airworthiness directives (ADs), service bulletins (SBs), and compliance verification processes.
- Monitor and evaluate vendor audits, MROs, and supplier quality compliance.
- Act as the Quality focal point for liaison with DGCA, EASA, FAA, and other authorities.
- Lead investigations into quality incidents, safety issues, and non-conformances; ensure effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Mentor and train engineering/quality staff on quality standards, regulations, and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to strategic decisions regarding fleet management, maintenance planning, and regulatory alignment.
Qualifications & Experience - Academic: Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical / Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License – DGCA / EASA / FAA (preferred).
- Lead Auditor Certification (ISO 9001 / AS9110 / EASA Part 145) desirable.
- Experience: 15–20 years in aviation engineering & maintenance, with at least 10–15 years in Quality & Compliance leadership roles in an airline or MRO.
